J Am Med Assoc, Jan 1911; LVI: 50: Medical Society Organized. -- At a meeting for organization of the medical fraternity of Gila County, at Globe, recently, the Gila County Medical Society was organized. Dr. John Bacon, Miami, was elected president; Dr. Roderick D. Kennedy. Globe, vice-president; and Dr. John L. Wales. Globe, scretary-treasurer. Dr. Joseph N. McCormack, Bowling Green, Ky., was present, and addressed the meeting.

Dr. McCormack was born in Nelson County, Kentucky, Nov. 9, 1847, the son of Thomas McCormack, merchant and farmer, and Elizabeth Brown McCormack; he was the fifth of sixteen children.
