J Am Med Assoc, Apr 1941; 116: 1546: Mr. Hayes has been for many years the Washington correspondent representing the Association generally, picking up news and matters of that sort, to forward to the Association. Since some few years past he has been connected directly with the Bureau of Legal Medicine and Legislation, for the purpose not of representing us before Congress or the departments but for the purpose of procuring for us essential data that we may need in Washington. He resides in Washington and has his law office here.
J Am Med Assoc, Nov 1951; 147: 1260: Report of the Bureau of Legal Medicine and Legislation. It is with a feeling of deep personal loss that the Bureau reports the death of Mr. John F. Hayes, Washington, D. C, on Monday, Sept. 17, 1951, at the age of seventy-three years. John Hayes, a lawyer, had been associated with the Association since 1920 and with the Bureau since 1933, assembling information in Washington of interest to medicine and executing with dispatch and intelligence the many requests that have been submitted to him during all of these years.
