See April 25, 2009 Arizona Daily Star article “Confederacy to be saluted here on Sunday”: “At least a dozen Confederate troops are buried in local cemeteries, he said. They include notables such as Samuel H. Drachman, a member of the prominent local family that settled here in territorial days, and Dr. Francis H. Goodwin, a physician and civic-minded pioneer who served as a state legislator, a probate judge, a U.S. marshal and a regent for the University of Arizona. Sunday's service [at Evergreen Cemetery] will include the dedication of a new Confederate tombstone recently placed on Goodwin's grave, courtesy of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.”
