T. Arturo Cano, LISAC, NCACII, born December 23, 1945 in Mexico, died February 7, 2005. Preceded in death by his brother, Jose Luis Cano; uncles and grandmother. Arturo was very grateful that he had been clean and sober for 19 years, seven months and 20 days. He was a pioneer in establishing bilingual/bicultural services for families afflicted by addictions. Owner and founder of Serenidad, an agency providing counseling services in Maricopa, Cochise and Pima Counties, from 1989 to 1999. His employment included, Cottonwood de Tucson, Sierra Tucson, LARC and most recently SEABHS in Douglas, AZ. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Natividad; daughters, Martha and Miriam Cano; son, Jason Paul Cano; granddaughter, Alyssa Georgette Cano; mother, Guadalupe Cano; brother, Refugio Cano; father and mother-in-law, Alberto and Rebeca Valenzuela; godmother, Maria Luisa Cano and his loving pets, Happy and Pachuco and numerous family members. Visitation 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, February 10, with the Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY. Mass 9:00 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Avenue. Burial will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
