JAMA, Sep 1963; 185: 994: Alesen, Lewis Albert; Los Angeles; born in West Pullman, Ill., Dec 4, 1896; University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago, 1922; specialist certified by the American Board of Surgery; fellow of the International College of Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons; member of the House of Delegates of the American Medical Association from 1949 to 1958; past-president of the California Medical Association and the Los Angeles County Medical Society; on the faculty of the College of Medical Evangelists; chief of surgical staff of the Los Angeles County General Hospital; affiliated with California Hospital, Methodist Hospital of Southern California, and Presbyterian Hospital-Olmsted Memorial; died May 9, aged 66, of carcinomatosis secondary to adenocarcinoma of the prostate.
