Royal order commanding the qualities of the members of the junta de hacienda and indicating that they should be each compensated according to merit. Also, appointing Elola to the comission de constitucion militar as yntendente de exercito. (Lloyd Kendall) (1980)

Royal decree that further to the abolition of the inquisition all memorials of penalties inflicted by the inquisition - pictures, inscriptions, etc, be erased or removed from churches, convents and all public palces, within three days of receipt of the decree. Royal order abolishing the inquisition and replacing it by tribunals for the protection of religion. Reasons for the abolition are given - the abuses and excesses of the inquisitors the secrecy of the system in which the accused can be condemned without ever facing his accuser etc. The Cortes decides that the inquisition is contrary to the constitution.
