Also concerns a war by de Meszieres with 1,000 Indian allies against Lipanes which was cancelled due to de Meszieres illness. Furthermore, Cabello talks of modification of Caballada system, the building of a stable in Bejar to house 400-500 horses, and of growing corn, barley and other food crops to sustain the animals. (R. Summary
Concerns a visit by de Meszieres who was accompanied by 25 Tancagues. While those were there, some Lipanes arrived to visit Cabello. Lipanes camped 8 leagues from Bexar until Cabello gave Tancagues safe Passage to Rio Colorado. Mentions that strength of Bexar is weak and that vecinos had to make-up escort. Discusses ceremony in which Tancague chief, el Mocho was given a medal and baston and says he will be glad to do so for other chiefs from northern tribes. Discusses fire signals used by Lipanes and mentions that Meszieres had diarrhea. (R. Graham) (1979)
