Carrying out orders of vieery Bucareli and junta de guerra held the previous year, O'Conor orders capitanes of Cerrogordo, Guajuquilla, Julimes, San Buenaventura, Janos, and El Paso, and company stationed in Villa de Chiguagua to mount a sustained, coordinated campaign against Apaches. Territory each presidial squadron is to cover id delineated. Squadrons from each presidio to be in field at all times. Standing orders to attack any Apache force under 100 warriors. (T. Ruiz de Ael retires as teniente de Janos and appoints Chacon to succeed him. As justicia mayor of Valle de San Buenaventura, Ruiz de Ael appoints Bohorques as Alferez of Janos to fill post Chacon vacated. Appointments confirmed by Leizaola, capitan Interino at Janos. Conde de San Pedro de Alamos, Husband or Marquesa de San Miguel de Aguayo, desires to move wife's sheep to dry bed of Laguna San Pedro until rains arrive. Unfortunately, 15 man escort from Gallo presidio unsufficient to protect sheepherders, etc. from attacks of rebel Indians. Leon notes lack of government in Tlascalteco Pueblo, or Pueblo of mission Indians of San Francisco de Coaguila, lack of vigilance against enemy Indians. Orders election of Indian officials. Lays down numerous regulations concerning Indians. Orders patrols 3 times a week- once by 4 presidial soldiers, other times by Indians themselves- to guard against hostile Indians.
