In view of a Comanache raid on the presidio of San Luis de las Amarrillas, the viceroy orders more arms be sent to San Antonio de Bexar, and other areas. In addition, more arms are to be manufactured, to be paid from the royal treasuries. New arms are to be distributed among citizenry as well as soldiers. Though main concern centers on relocation of French fort into Spanish territory, other types of French encroachments are also detailed- 1) commerce between Spanish presidial soldiers and French in Louisiana-French clothes for Spanish meat, silver and other goods. 2) arrival of troops in new Orleans. 3) French trade with Indians in Spanish territory of Texas, especially in materials of war; also intention to trade with New Mexico Indians. 4) increasing contact between Spaniards and French in general.
