Responding to Galvez plan to exterminate enemy Seris and Pimas along the Rio Grande and the seacoast, Anza notes that with the recommended expenditure of 200,000 pesos they could augment presidio troops, supply them with better arms and munitions, and thus effectively control the Cerro Prieto, now used as a Haven by the enemies. Noting that the vecinos of Sonora can't be expected to raise much money, due to their small number, he reminds Pineda of the missions' generosity. (R. Perez) (1977)

In response to the viceroys decree asking for donations of horses for the king's army fighting the insurgents, the Ayuntamiento calls a junta of vecinos. Given are the names of vecinos, the number of horses they donated and their corresponding value. (P. Hayes) (1977)

0097-0098- armed insurgents heading for Moncloba, capital of Coahuila- citizens of Parral must defend their city in the name of king, god, and country. 0099- list of enlistment for civilian defense (1812). 0103- list of those who cooperated in the defense of 1811. 0108-0115. Informes to the commandante general detailing the miserable condition of Parral- no currency, no quicksilver (Azoque), unemployment, etc.- so little money can be appropriated for defense. Most public funds go towards the public school. 40-60 cavalry and 60-80 infantry have been organized, the geography of the area is cited as an excuse for not having to expend a lot of time, money, and energy for defense. Orders armed reconnaissance of the Sierra de Tasajera where enemy Indian activity has occurred. 31 vecinos (listed) are ordered to supply one soldier- fully outfitted. Those listed are the wealthier citizenry. (R. Perez) (1977)

Orders that 33 vecinos finance the outfitting of 33 men for the aprehension of the indios that live in the mountains of Barraja, Carmen, and Yapa, and the Rivera del Rio. The expedition, ordered by the comandante general, is to leave on the 27th of October, 1796. (R. Perez) (1977)
