Izquierdo is forced into the army as punishment for dealing in contraband in puerto de Tampico and Barras de Panuco. Designation and employments for ship la favorita, which is commanded by de la Bodega y Quadra in exploration trips. Hixosa is sent to Spain; his job as comissary in puerto de San Blas is given to Ruiz. Concerns problems related to lack of supplies in presidio of Loreto. Summary
Correspondence on new governor to be instructed by Cuellar; mention of conflict between Cuellar and Aguero; petition by Cuellar to go back to Tarahumara and leave expedition in charge of captain of Durango; concern about his Brother being replaced in battalion of savoya. Description by Rodriguez of unfortunate situation with Indians in Monclova and Santa Rita. Cuellar reports of his situation and that of his troop, and of his encounters with Indians to Croix. Part of diary by Leizaola reporting in detail the situation of his troops in following tracks of Apaches near Chiguagua. Cuellar congratulates Faini as new governor of Nueva Vizcaya and tells him of his plans related to military expediton, also describes in detail clashes with Apaches, their military tactics, explains why he does not follow order given by visitador general in war against Indians, mentions failure to capture Indians who attacked Chihuahua and imprisonment of three Indian women, and death of Ten Young people due to smallpox (?). Correspondence informing virrey of Cuellar's expedition and his success in killing large number of Chafalotes; mention of two alternatives proposed by Cuellar that will facilitate war against Indians; description of success of captain of San Buenaventura in killing of Indians at frontier of Chihuahua. Letter by captain describing in detail the slaughter. Conflict between Barrios and Cuellar, Cuellar informs of state of his troops and asks his representative Barrios for 100 men; Barrios decides not to send men and gives wrong information about his troops-copies of correspondence between Cuellar and Barrios. Later on Barrios decides to help, gives contradictory report of his troops and meets Cuellar to fight against Indians. Discussion of peace with Indians. (M. Vasquez, July 1988)

Correspondence concerning negligence of captain of presidio del Passo del Norte; discussion of who is to be chosen as priest for Cuellar's expedition, Sotto mayor finally chosen, also Casay chosen to go as doctor of expediton; mention of uniforms and provisions for expediton; documents discussing back-payment of salaries to Munoz' troops; appointment of Galvez, Bezerril and Cuellar's Brother as captains of first, second and third companies respectively; also document showing situation of such companies. Cuellar denies intention of taking soldiers from troops in Sacramento and peace overtures by two Indian captains to captain of Janos. Letter explaining money given to Cavedes from funds of Propios from Saltillo and mention of negligence in management of those funds. Debate among government officials due to irresponsibilities of Pedro Junon who was in charge of administration of mission affairs. folio 244 contains a signed document stating that Pedro Junon refused and failed to carry out viceroy's orders. Chart in folio 251 contains list of missions and sinodos paid along with claim that such sums of money were not the ones reported to viceroy.
