Francisco and six families of Seris returned to Pitic on August 30, looking very hungry. Speaks of rations of grain, meat. Mentions agreement made when Seris first conceded peace in 1784. Tiburones, Tepocas embracing christianity, should be used as examples for Seris. Discussion of process for religious education for Young, older Indians. Lists Seris in reduccion, amount of grain each receives weekly Chepillo declared guilty (charge unclear) by entire Seri nation, is to be deported. Speaks of purchase of livestock for Seris. (A. Summary
Describes attack on Apache camp at Sierra del Peyote, one Spanish captive freed, prisoners taken. Grimarest offers Chiricahuas at Bacoachi four pesos for each enemy prisoner or Head they deliver. Gets immediate response. Reduccion of Neya, his band. Trouble with Apache congregation at Bacoachi still loyal to Pozo. List of friendly Apaches leaving Bacoachi with Castilla. Summary
Tovar is worried about Yagonxli, his wife Tavardillo, who are in keeping at Janos. Yagonxli is ill, refuses Spanish treatment, could die. Fear that if he Dies, trauma will sever peaceful relations with tribe. Indian auxiliaries at Bacoachi deserting, upset with Spanish. Ojos Colorados (aparently son of Yagonxli) and Griguicen arrive with about 40 men. Tovar concerned that supplies low, no meat or gifts to appease Indians. Vague letters discussing aspects of peace plan. Draft from viceroy praising plan but advising caution. (A. Dean, April 1989)

Letter concerning imprisonment of Pozo, also of three soldiers who murdered two peaceful Apaches. Denojeant meets with friendly Pinal Apaches who want military approval to try to purge other Apaches out of Pinal. List of Apaches agreeing to peace at Denojeant's proposition on July 30, including Apache women (named). Mention of forty of Pozo's followers gathered at Bacoachi. (A. Dean, April 1989)
