Summary
Concerning a projected campaign against the Apaches, the Comanche generals, with some of their retinue, have arrived to consult with the Spaniards. The Comanches expect gifts, and the governor proposes to let them have any horses they may capture from the Apaches. The governor considers the eventuality of problems involving the Anglo-Americans which would require an abandoning of the campaign, to attend to the security of the province, which security merits primary attention. Summary
On their way to a buffalo hunt, a group fo some 600 Yutas, together with a group of Xicarillas are attacked by a party of Comanches, Caiguas and cuampees. The Yuta general, Mano Mocha, who is friendly to the Spaniards, is killed. The governor considers this a serious loss in regard to the maintenance of peace among the Yutas, and makes proposals for finding another Senior yutan, friendly to the Spaniards, to take the place of the defunct general Mocha.
