This document contains the record of the charges and resolution of the case of Gregorio, a Criado of Diego de Quiros. Gregorio was convicted of stabbing an Indian twice with a knife. His only excuse is drunkennes - which does not suffice. He is sentenced to three years service in the silver mines, plus monetary payments. Summary
Miguel received report of 4 Indians rounding up hacienda horses. He and Indians from hacienda go after them. Capture Juan. Estevan told Miguel about it. Juan is of the encomienda of Pedro Cortes, and works on the hacienda od Diego Romo. This Series of documents are a collection of eye witness testimony to the attempted horse stealing and indio Juan is confined to jail, and Pedro Cortes is ordered to further punish Juan when released. Final judgment is passed by Don Juan de Aguileta Alcalde mayor of Parral - it seems Geronimo is part of the encomienda of Francisco Cano and he must be responsible for paying for cows. (R. Cristobal kills Andres - after lengthy proceedings, in which Cristobals assigned public defender puts on a good show, Cristobal is convicted and sentenced to- 200 lashes, a Ride through the busy streets of town tied to a packsaddle, 3 years in the mines and 3 more years on a hacienda.
