Following Indian raids on San Phelipe Pueblo/mission and padre Joseph Pasqual's request for 6 soldiers to help, Juan Fernandez de Carrion has list drawn up of all citizens owing arms within the Vicinity, appx. 130 citizens listed with identity of their type armament. (R. Davis) (1977)

Mendinueta relates two major hostile encounters in which Spanish forces destroy rancherias, tiendas and take Indian captives. Mendinueta requests horses and guns for war effort. Mentions possibility of using vecinos in war. Request for arms, horses granted on condition that distribution list of horses is submitted to virrey. Relation of Indian thefts, murders.
