On the order of Mariano de la Pena, Francisco Chavez is informed verbally, that he has been exiled and must be out of Alburquerque in 24 hours. Chavez appeals to the governor. In the ensuing litigation Chavez is accused of failing to meet obligations resulting from livestock transactions. Written testimony, declarations of witnesses, etc. Are taken and these are sent to the governor for his determination of the case. (Lloyd Kendall) (1980)

Juana Getrudis Baca accuses Pedro Martin of having lured her away from her home through a trick to a secluded place, and raping her. Martin admits having carnal knowledge of Baca, but insists that she was a willing partner in the act, that it was not rape. In the ensuing proceedings it is alleged that Baca, who is married, had been having illicit relationships a severe reprimand and is required to pay the costs of the suit. (Lloyd Kendall) (1980)

With regard to the Cura Hidalgo and the insurrection against Spanish rule, Felipe Montoya is found guilty of making certain, false, seductive and scandalous statements, and is condemned by a tribunal to four months of public labors in Santa Fe. (Lloyd Kendall) (1980)

Salcedo sends to the governador ynterino del Nueva Mexico four copies of a Bando relative to an indult granted by the king, because of the installation of the Augusto congreso de Cortes, to all classes of criminals. Salcedo requires the governor to publish the Bando, extensively, publicity in the usual manner and, that he be notified of such compliance. (Lloyd Kendall) (1980)

Discussion of need for the council of war to expedite the trial and execution of the rebel leaders so as to thwart any hopes entertained by the other rebels; the plan to send the heads of the rebel leaders to the respective pueblos where they initiated the revolt; the risks to security involved in moving the rebels from place to place - which problem may be solved by passing the sentenced of death on them and executing it promptly.
