Legal jurisdiction given over Nuevo Santander. Revision of archives and accounting records of outgoing governor is done due to inconsistencies on reported outlays made in war against Indians. Refund given to governor Castro for travel expenses. Corlier receives title of marquez. Maxent receives licence to travel to Valladolid. Series of letters confirming procedures for processing legal documentation are sent from viceroy's and governor's offices (authorizations of licences to travel, taxes, migration, marriages etc.). (M. Governors of the provinces of oriente and Occidente are appointed. Garcia conde is appointed governor of Durango. Bonavia is appointed governor of provincias de Occidente. Herrera is appointed gobernador comandante of provincias de oriente. Report of the occupation of province of Texas by rebel leader Bernardo Gutierrez, who is aided by rebels from the estados Unidos del norte, governor Salcedo is killed as a result of occupation. (this document contains important information on cooperation between rebels from the two sides of the northern Mexican border, in fights against Mexican Colonial authorities). (M. A Series of letters from and to the governador of Nuevo Leon, Manuel Vaamonde, and the virrey of Nuevo Leon which discuss and an account named fraudes del herario and to foward these orders as well as talk of involving the judiciary in this matter, receipt of a royal edict not to commence the, ramos de R.tas, order prohibiting sales transactions that do not verify the purchasers true identity, an inspection made by Gutierrez and documents handed over to him at that time, the Former virreys orders to have a military company in Nuevo Leon ship their armaments to another company having a campaign; hostility between civil and military officials expressed in the following manner - he is my captain but in name only.
