Summary
Letter from capitan de hoyos to Gonzalez de Santianez, requesting advice on the problems of collecting the Diezmos for the construction of the new Obispado. Santianes then appeals to the virrey for advice. The bishop de Guadalaxara complains to virrey of the administrator Muniz's methods of collecting Diezmos. Church of Valladolid also complains of the method of collection. Areche writes a synopsis of the conflicts and requests a rapid response from the virrey to solve the problem. (D. Summary
Official hacedores give virrey a history of past royal decrees related to Diezmos for the years 1544 to 1769 for the abbey of panuco. Areche gives information on the instructions for collection of Diezmos for the construction of the cathedral and report in October 20, 1774 of a royal meeting of fiscales on the progress made in establishing the new bishoric. Archbishop of Mexico reports to the virrey that he will obey his request to send his part of Diezmos for the establishment of the bishopric. Reales Caxas de San Luis Potosi and the bishop of Michoacan acknowledge tehir part in collection of Diezmos for the new bishopric. (D. Bautista, January 1990)

Summary
Royal decree of January 5, 1773, states that the construction of the new cathedral will be in Linares with the name of Nuevo Reyno de Leon, for the new colony of Nuevo Santander; the diezmos for construction of the cathedral will come from 26 villages. The royal decree also states that Indians will not pay Diezmos with the hope that they will stay in the colony. Virrey gives the governor of Nuevo Santander the responsibility of naming the persons responsible for collecting the Diezmos and for the churches of Guadalaxara and Valladolid to keep an accounting of the Diezmos collected for the new cathedral. The summary of the Diezmos collected is presented on folio 22. Virrey requests a detailed listing of Diezmos from the Obispado of Guadalaxara of the Diezmos received from Reyno de Leon, Coahuila and Texas for the last five years. Sierra sends the information to the virrey. Gonzalez de Santianes is commissioned to certify the Diezmos from the villages. folio 28 is located between folios 55 and 56, is a relation signed by Vidal de Lorca explaining that Goicochea is responsible for the collection of Diezmos in that jurisdiction.
