Reports three soldiers incapable of completing service. Concerns transfer of Indian prisoner. Concerns 16 pacified Indians in Palmas. Arocha requests transfer to Texas. Diaz receives notice of large influx of Indians to Bejar, responds by sending 60 men. Relates incident in which Indians stole 6 horses, fled when horses were retrieved and returned to Flores' ranch killing two people and burning the huts, corrals and horses within. (M. Letter to viceroy with account by Gallardo of exploration in California, pacification of Indians, discovery of los Angeles bay, establishment and construction of Santa Gertrudis mission; his return and imprisonment by capitan of garrison in conjunction with two missionaries and his ruin when captain of garrison stole his papers and wife's jewelry; missionaries promised him death if truth was ever known. Letter from virrey(?) To corregidor of Chiguagua(?) Concerning request of diputados of mines & commerce for silver to build church. Virrey(?) Requests that correspondence of February 1772 be gathered to settle request. Carrillo relates deterioration of church ornaments; raises question of how to divide up ornaments of expelled regulares. Documents listing rights and obligations to citizens of Presas del Rey upon foundation of Villa by capitan de la Serna. Establishment of church, garrison, and other official offices. Requests by Serna to abolish residency, judgeship and sentencing surety as few people know him, he also requests title of capitan to be given to him as founder and teniente to his son Estevan, titles are approved. Priests requests money for sinodos and traveling expenses. Conde de la Sierra Gorda sends city charter, maps, titles of Solares to build houses viceroy frees Villa for Ten years payment of primicias to church. Other documents relate disturbances in town due to absence of priest. Document refers to historical event about sinodos when churches were secularized in 1734 by request of provincial of Zacatecas. Governor of Nuevo Leon suggests to viceroy two plans for capture, submission and christianization of Gualahuizes. Letter sent by fray Barragan to viceroy detailing surrender of Pedro Jose and his group, promises made by Barragan to all Gualahuizes with his plans for controlling them. (A. Dell'acqua. Autos and petitions to viceroy and king to enter province of moquito pacify it. Soldiers desire salary to be paid in time. Indian governors want Cuerbo y Valdes to remain as governor for a long period of time. Informes from governor comparing state of province before and while in office stressing changes including foundation of Villa de Alburquerque and repopulation of Galisteo without monetary expense to the crown.
