Five letters written by fr. Francisco Garces to fr. Diego Ximenez. One is so badly written that a copy was made which accompanies the letter. These letters are really informes giving information of the mission and speak of various Indian tribes - cocopa, faliquamai, Yumas, etc. Some cover one folio others two. They bear the following dates- February 15, 1778; February 19*, 1778; December 25, 1776; September 24, 1776; January 12, 1775. These are original letters having the autograph of fr. Garces. This is a copy of the diary of fr. Juan Diaz when he accompanied cap. Juan Ansa in the expedition from San Gabriel in California to San Ignacio de Tubac in Sonora. The diary begins with the date of may 5, 1774 and ends on may 25 of the same year, concluding with the following words- se finalizo Este diario en dicho presidio de San Ignazio de Tubac en 26 Dias del Mes de Mayo de 1774. It ends with the name of fr. Juan Diaz, Misionero Appostolico, but it is not his signature and the diary is a copy of the original. (microfilm catalog)

This is the original diary of fr. Juan Diaz who accompanied cap. Juan Ansa on the expedition to the Gila and Colorado rivers to open a new route to Monte rey and the missions of California. The diary begins by listing the personnel who were in the expedition, thirty four in all. It starts with the second of January, 1774 and ends with the 22nd of March of the same year. It concludes with the words- concluyo Este diario en esta mission de San gabirel in 8 Dias del Mes de Abril de 1774. this document bears the autograph of fr. This memorial sent by fr. Diego Ximenez to Bucareli describes the missions of Pimeria Alta and Pimeria Baja and gives the distances between the missions. In the Margin are written the words- Este memorial Se vario en algunas palabras. It was written from the colegio de San Fernando, Mexico but bears no signature. (microfilm catalog)

This is a group of informes sewed together written by the missionaries laboring in the missions of Pimeria Baja, and Pimeria Alta. They give an account of the foundation and the status of the missions in that area, and are signed by the respective missionary in each mission, with the location of the mission and the date. They are copies of the originals, and the majority are addressed to fr. Chrisostomo Gil de Bernabe. There are thirteen informes in all, written by the following missionaries- fr. Baltazar Carrillo, fr. J. Bautista Garces, fr. Juan Sarove, fr. Estevan de Salazar, fr. Joseph M. Espinosa, fr. Joseph Antonio Caja, fr. Joseph Soler, fr. Francisco Zuniga, fr. Francisco Roch, fr. Francisco Garces, fr. Juan Diaz, fr. Juan Gospoll, fr. Bartholome Ximeno. Among these is an informe written by fr. Francisco Garces to Don Antonio de bucarelo. (microfilm catalog)

This informe gives an account of the mission of San Francisco del Ati by fr. Joseph Soler who also expresses his opinion concerning the needs of the mission, and the best manner of conducting its affairs. This is an original document, written at the mission of San Francisco del Ati, and has the autograph of fr. Joseph Soler. (microfilm catalog)

This informe was sent by fr. Esteban de Salazar to the guardian of the colegio de Santa Cruz, fr. Sebastian Flores, giving an account of his mission and the activities of the Apaches. He expresses his opinion regarding the manner of conducting the missions, and what their needs are. An auto by Don Phelipe Rabago y Theran, capitan comandante del presidio de San Luis de las Amarillas regarding the foundation of two missions among the Apaches, as requested by fr. Diego Ximenez- Santa Cruz (o S. Lorenzo) and Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria. This document contains the autos de la formazion and the testimony of testigos besides the dictamen of the friars, fr. This informe contains a brief description of each mission of Sonora with the date of foundation. On the back sheet is written- noticias de las misiones que administran en Sonora el colegio de Santa Cruz; parese ser del P. Fr. Antonio Reyes, despues Obispo de Sonora.
