Summary
Certification of the transference of command of troops presented by Joseph Chacon and Martinez, testifying that Chacon has indeed passed the command to Martinez and paid the soldiers salaries, as is due. Also discussed are the delays, wastage of time and money caused by an excess of lawsuits, relative to the failure to meet financial obligations, and the transference of good and properties; and suggestions as to how these delays and wastage may be avoided. Summary
A motley group of Apaches Faraones come into Pecos; apparently in peace, but the Pecos are hostile to the point of wanting to kill them. The governor investigates and discovers that the Pecos generally consider the Apaches Faraones to be thieves and killers, and that at some time in the past a Pecos had been murdered by one or more members of this same group. The governor must hand down justice. He splits up the group, sending the two strong males to work in the mines; an old woman he sends off to live with someone in la Canada; and two women and two boys he sells into slavery in Sonora or such parts. The proceeds from this sale he distributes as alms to some poor residents, and as payment to some of the persons involved in the apprehending of the Apaches Faraones. (Lloyd Kendall) (1980)

Summary
The governor complains of the confusion caused by the considerable number of strayed animals, and the frequent abuses that occur, involving theft, false claims of ownership, and illegal trade in such animals. He issues an order delineating a new regulation governing the disposition of such animals and the penalty for its infraction (four years of exile to the province of Zuni). And, requires that the Alcaldes mayores of the various towns and settlements publish the order publicly, in both Spanish and Indian languages. (Lloyd Kendall) (1980)
